More Masses

I have the music for some more masses that I thought I should blog.  I’ll be starting with the Glendalough mass.  A friend from church heard it at the recent conference in Wollongong and was very impressed. I’ve paid my US$8.50 to download it from GIA and I’ll put up some comments soon.

Our pianist returned from the recent Australian Catholic Youth Festival with the Glorify Mass setting, by Robert Galea. We will be rehearsing it over the next weeks so that we can introduce it for Lent. The Mass setting doesn’t have a Gospel Acclamation – something we will follow up with Robert. We think the Mass’s gentle, lilting melody is conducive to the reflective nature of Lent.

Thanks Yola, I’m currently listening to the samples on the AOV website. The Gloria is certainly more reflective than most settings.
They are selling the sheet music with a CD of backings as well which is a nice touch.
