Open the Eyes of My Heart

Paul Baloche provides No 103 in AOV NG, “Open the Eyes of My Heart.”  There isn’t a lot lyrically to this song but it’s not a bad pop song.  I prefer his “Flowing River” which has more liturgical uses I think, but this is OK.  It must be because everyone seems to have done a version of it – just check YouTube.  Baloche’s version is here.

The sheet music in AOV NG has a glitch on p325, 2nd line – going into the second repeat can’t be right, there has to be a missing bit of the note left over from the previous bar.

The song can be purchased for download at spiritandsong.

My backing follows the printed music but the last bit could be repeated until the end of time if desired.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
Open the eyes of my heart,
I want to see You. I want to see You. (4x)
To see You high and lifted up,
Shining in the light of Your glory.
Pour out Your power and love,
As we sing holy, holy, holy.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
Open the eyes of my heart,
I want to see You. I want to see You. (2x)
To see You high and lifted up,
Shining in the light of Your glory.
Pour out Your power and love,
As we sing holy, holy, holy.

Holy, holy holy. Holy, holy, holy.
Holy, holy, holy, I want to see You.
