  1. Chris says:

    Here is my parish music…

Procession in the Church: Palm Sunday Procession (Walker)
We started using this last year. To keep it simple for the congregation, we do the following:
    – verse 1 as the refrain
    – refrain is sung 4 times at start and between verses
    – other ‘verses’ are sung by the cantor as verses
    – verse 1 coda at end of final refrain

Psalm: My God, My God (Haugen)

Response to Passion: Glory in the Cross (Easter version) – verse 1 & refrain

POG: Passion Chorale – quiet music

    Communion: Now We Remain (Haas)

Sending Forth: Jesus, Remember Me (Berthier)

  2. Yola says:

    At our parish:

    E: Hosanna (Taize)

Psalm: My God, My God (Ed Bolduc)

PoG: Blest Are You Lord (Aniceto Nazareth)

C: Tree of Life (Aaron Thompson)
    Hail Redeemer, King Divine (Brennan)

R: – (no recessional – silent transition into Holy Week)

  3. Mary says:

Our Palm Sunday line-up: African community leading this week.

    Ent: Hosanna – Carl Tuttle

No psalm, no one knew a setting

PoG: Take our Bread (Joe Wise)

Comm: The Old Rugged Cross – George Bennard (1873-1958)
(Not a song I’d ever contemplated for liturgy before coming to Ireland. But both the Irish and the Africans use it around Easter Week)

Recess: He is the King of Kings – Virgil Meares

    • admin says:

I grew up with “The Old Rugged Cross” in our Presbyterian church. I would never have thought of it for liturgy.

      Thanks for posting.

      Geoff
