Our Father – Mass of Glory and Praise

I’ve already done backings for this mass starting here.  Rex Urbano from Our Lady of Fatima asked for MIDI files so he can use them on his keyboard at church.  I’ve made MIDI versions of the BIAB files my usual backings were made from, so if anyone needs them e-mail me and confirm that your church has the licence for Paul Mason’s mass.  They aren’t the same as the MP3s because I mainly use the realtracks in BIAB now so I have to use a different style to allow a MIDI version.

Rex also asked for a backing for the Our Father, which I had not done as, shamefully, we rarely sing it at St Edwards.  I made him a MIDI for the piece up the the embolus only.

I’ve made an MP3 of the BIAB/MIDI that conveys the Latin style of his melody, although I’m not sure if it’s the sort of Latin of which Rome approves.

Don’t forget to download the assembly version of his mass here.

    Hello Geoff,
My name is Chris and I am a musician in Corinda Graceville Parish. Firstly, thanks for the work you have done with the midi files. Great resource for musicians to hear and learn the music. We have started learning Mass of Glory and Praise since 2nd Sunday of Ordinary Time – 15 January and I am wondering if you can do a backing track of the Penitential Act as a learning resource as we will be singing this during Lent. Much appreciated. Chris. P.S. We started with Mass Shalom July 2011 until end of Christmas Season. Our parish coped very well with the changes (including the once a year people at Christmas).

Nice to hear from you Chris. I’ll have to ask the presbytery for the music to that part of the mass, as I was only given the pieces we do here in Daisy Hill. I’m hoping we can get back to “Glory and Praise” by then. We are getting better with Shalom, but I never found it much fun leading that mass just on guitar.

Singing the Penetential Act when we never do that would be a good way for us to mark out Lent here, so I’ll have to suggest that to our liturgy teams – thanks for the idea.

I’m sure I can get a backing up well before Lent. I did the rest of the mass in MIDI form for the choir at Acacia Ridge, so if you have the music already I’m happy to send it to you in MIDI rather than MP3s if it helps.
