After communion, we have a Eucharistic procession to our chapel in the parish rectory down the road concluding with a short service in the chapel and adoration:
During the procession inside the church: Pange Lingua Gloriosi (English translation)
During the procession outside the church: Ubi Caritas (Berthier) – with small ensemble accompaniment – featuring me on trumpet 🙂
While in the chapel: Tantum Ergo – a capella

On a side note, I was a little disappointed that for the first time in as long as I can remember we didn’t sing Tom Colvin’s “Jesu, Jesu” as the first hymn during the washing of the feet. It was always a favorite of mine. 🙁

Did you back up for Easter Sunday, Chris. I played along with a large group for the Triduum and left it at that.

I’ve never heard Schutte’s “Blessed Are You” from “Glory in Cross”, which sounds just as useful backing an action as for the readings and then as a response.

      • Chris says:

Yes, I did two Masses on Easter Sunday, but by chance that is my usual on the 4th Sunday morning of the month. I would also usually play at Saturday evening Mass at St Joachim’son 4th Sunday but their Sunday 6pm group look after the Easter Vigil. I did not attend a Easter Vigil this year, which is the first in many years.

If you listen to the recording of “Blessed Are You”, it is written to be used within the readings on Holy Thursday.
