Ming selected this lovely tune by Marty Haugen from the new Catholic Worship Book 2 to play this weekend. I have it in Gather Comprehensive and it is not a new piece, but being in CWB2 might boost its popularity in Australia.
The assembly will be fine with the refrain but the verses are cantor material I suspect.
The text is Psalm 63, but is also available in the page scans at Hymnary. The sheet music can be purchased at GIA.
My backing is a cello duet from BIAB with a bowed bass and guitar picking added. I had to make up the chords, with BIAB’s help, as I only had a melody line.
* I forgot to look in Gather Australia where it no. 43 and where I could have saved myself a lot of trouble by using the chords found there. The chords BIAB found are close enough though, and it even picked out a Bm6 correctly, which is more than I could have done.
