Ryan’s parish used this song with a text by David E. Trueblood last Sunday and it has such a cracking set of lyrics I thought I should mention it.
The text and melody line are at Hymnary, where it is noted as “Thou, whose…” and “Christ, whose…” as well as “God, whose…”
It is set to Beethoven’s “Hymn to Joy” and has such lines as “overcome our sinful calmness” and “our tranquillity forgive” so it would be a rabble rousing recessional or a song for Pentecost.
