Thanks Mary - I should have mentioned his name at least. 

In &quot;Voices As One&quot; they give him no credit at all and the text is just called &quot;The Lorica of St Patrick&quot;. Perhaps they felt an Irish Priest would never seek copyright of the words of St Patrick however rearranged into a new hymn and so claim it as traditional and public domain. By virtue of a new arrangement of the old folk tune WLP have a copyright for themselves.

I couldn&#039;t find anything more definitive.
