Probably an error as you say. I’m still worried about the editors adapting the music. It may just mean they used an uncredited arrangement, but with just the melody line version to look at it’s hard to say.

Jumping in for Geoff, that struck me, too, but that is what CWB1 says. This was published by Vanguard Music who also published all of the Medical Mission Sisters material of that period, so it does sound like a mix up. Hymnquest lists the current copyright holder as Kevin Mayhew Ltd., which sounds reasonable! Are you sure about “The copyright is with the Medical Mission Sisters”? Even if that’s what CWB says, I’d be wondering it it’s an error: I’ve not seen any cross over in copyright between anything published by Kevin Mayhew and the MMS.

As someone who missed that period by 30 years, and grew up with the modern Latin Mass, it’s very interesting to learn how we got from one place to the other.

The video is very useful, and hearing ‘Go Tell Everyone’ was familiar from my early childhood.

I’m leaning a lot on Mary at Godsongs for the UK end of this era, because, as you have pointed out, Hymnary’s US bias has lacunae in this area and I get the impression that this time in Catholic music doesn’t get a lot of love.
