So far I've found four tunes for "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling".
Hymnary gives John Zundel's "BEECHER" but TIS gives two different melodies - one by Prichard and one by Stainer and then suggests yet another tune (BLAENWERN). Obviously it is a popular text by Charles Wesley.

Which one are you using, Chris?

Yes, the time changes are fine. Bernadette Farrell is very skilful at crafting music that is somehow recognisable and is thus very singable - the melodies stick with people. As long as the choir sings with confidence, the people pick it up very quickly.

There are two accompaniment versions to Renew Me, Lord - one for SAB choir, and one for melody/harmony, and they are slightly different. The gaps between the verses are different, and the keyboard accompaniment for SAB is more complex. We went with the SAB accompaniment to set the song in collective memory first, and we will add the harmonies once the melody is securely laid down.

Thank you for letting me know about Kate Keefe, and for your appreciation of our music selections!

I've blogged your parishes Lenten selections, Yola and thought they were great. Does everyone cope with the time shifts in Renew me, Lord?

It's nice to see Kate Keefe's psalms being used. Jenny O'Brien's one for this week is unusually fiddly.
