I'm no great fan of my backing, which may be no better than it has to be to learn the song, but have another think about the song itself, John. It is a basic prayerful chant. It is accessible and for I suspect, a far greater proportion of people than Gregorian chant, a doorway to the sacred. Perhaps Gregorian chant ran out of puff because it was not the province of the people - maybe it will come back when the Spirit moves enough to people to explore its own special beauty and sacredness - that may even be happening now. For the moment as a grumpy old bastard myself, I'm still thrilled to hear a youngish person like Judy Bailey sing a simple song about her journey with God.

OMG. To think that Gregorian Chant was composed by the 8th century and that it's taken 1200 years of progress to descend to this. Words fail me. Simply dreadful.
