Carleton ‘Sam” Young , is not from New Zealand. When I knew him, when he com-posed this music, he likely lived in Nashville, Tennessee. The music is copyrighted by Hope Publishing Company, Chicago, with a 1964 copyright. He was on the staff of the United Methodist Publishing. Nashville, and edited the current United Methodist Hymnal, and Abingdon Press music publications. I expect sing this carol on Christ-mas Eve, 2017 entered Dec. 22, 2017
It is included on #2095 in the United Methodist publication ‘The Faith We Sing’
