This song added to Breaking Bread for 2023, although it isn’t new, is a gospel styled gathering song that also has verses provided so it can be used a Gospel Acclamation. The music is by Ken Canedo and he had help with the text from Bob Hurd.
Unless your assembly has an affinity for gospel music I’d leave to choirs and Americans.
I will break my moratorium on US based hymns to look at OCP’s additions to Breaking Bread for 2023.
This is one of many hymns based on Micah 6:8, on this occasion written by the wonderful Bernadette Farrell and dating back to 2011.
It has a singable gently syncopated and most singable chorus. I noticed that the first two lines of the verse have pretty much the same tune as the verse of “Bright Eyes”.
