John Burland has written a Communion song for Sydney’s Eucharist 28. It was co-written by Stephen Leiweke.
John has kindly provided the sheet music for free – I used a link at the APMN Facebook site.
The range is singable and it has enough syncopation and triplets to make it interesting.
A made a backing that highlights BIAB penchant for mimicry – all that arpeggiated guitar.

Indeed – having that good a poet set by that good a musician was a rare confluence. Not a lot of other Australian songwriters of their time have survived to be used to now.
Burland is a different time, different genre and this is a serviceable Eucharist song, with a text that has merit, if not especially poetic. There is considerable craft on display here – it might grow on you.
I’d have to drop the key from Bb to G to use it, but that would make it easier to play on guitar.
