We will likely go with the same music liturgy as in the past:
Entrance: Blessings on the King (Lynch)
Gifts: Glory in the Cross (Schutte)
Communion: We Remember (Haugen)
Recessional: Jesus Remember Me (Berthier)
The psalm response is Psalm 21:
My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?
If we sing it it will be Amanda McKenna’s tune.
I’m rather excited that I have been blessed with the addition of an organist and more singers (young adults with better voices than this old codger!) who enjoy traditional style music, so I am looking to go beyond CWBII from time to time. This week we will be singing the communion antiphon in Latin with English verses (to a psalm tone); while not ostinato, I see it as not far removed from Taize in style.
Palm Sunday:
CWB2:302 ‐ Hosanna to the Son of David [Missal] antiphon only
CWB2:303 ‐ All Glory, Laud and Honour [Neale / SAINT THEODULPH]
CWB2:330 ‐ O Sacred Head, Surrounded [Baker / PASSION CHORALE]
Graduale Simplex: Pater, si non potest (Father, if this cup cannot pass …) with Psalm 22 (21).
No recessional hymn
Wonderful – I’m jealous of your voices and organ. I could hijack them but you are 300km away and with fuel being as it is they are probably safe.
Geoff
Gathering: The King of Glory (Jabusch)
Psalm: My God, My God (Alstott – Respond & Acclaim)
Mass Parts: Mass of the Angels and Saints (Janco)
Gifts: Were You There (spiritual)
Communion: These Alone Are Enough (Schutte)
Take Up Your Cross (Cortez)
Closing: Jesus, Remember Me (Berthier)
