These selections are for the Pentecost Vigil liturgy that we will be following, so no sequence before the gospel acclamation. Instead, the sequence (a wonderful text) is being used as a hymn for the procession of gifts. The translation of Veni Creator Spiritus we are singing for communion (to the traditional VENI CREATOR chant) is a contemporary translation that much better fits the stresses in the chant melody than the other translations I am familiar with, probably because they were designed for hymn tunes.
