I don’t know “By Your Priestly Power”.

Out of interest how do you cope with the ridiculous range of “I am the Bread of Life?”

  2. Shirley says:

Hi, I wonder if we can get a copy of the mp3 backing for ‘This blessing cup by Frank Andersen’ . Fyi, our parish has the copyright to AOV 1 & 2 and Next Generation and I have the music sheet as well, only we were unable to play music because our musician has retired. Thank you

I’ll get This Blessing Cup on the blog today – it is a favourite. I hope the new guitarist works out.

    Thank you so much. Gbu

  4. Chris says:

By Your Priestly Power, O Risen Lord is a traditional one by McAuley and Connolly.

With ‘I am the Bread of Life’, we sing this in A Flat Major. In A Flat it goes to low A flat in bar 1 of verse and high E flat in the refrain. In this key, the people can sing this well and get the low A flat and high E flat.

      Thanks Chris.

We bring it down to G but that means the song starts with a sort of groan rather than singing. I’ll take it up a notch next time.

  5. Chris says:

Have a go with it in A flat. It might work better with your congregation. Looking at my music in A flat, it says use Capo 1 for guitar.
