With Willow continuing there half price sale till October 25 (according to their website), it may be worth mentioning that they sell GIA’s Worship, 4th ed., hymnal. It’s distinguishing feature, in my opinion is a “hymn of the day” for each Sunday, basically a hymn that is very specifically focussed on the day’s gospel and typically written in a meter to which many tunes fit. This means you don’t necessarily need the keyboard accompaniment edition, and also don’t have to use the tune in the book. This week’s hymn, for example, is “Love Is the Law That Jesus Taught” and is set to BEATUS VIR, an obscure Slavak melody in Worship, but I will be using ROCKINGHAM, well known from “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”. The position of the hymn is usually suited to Gifts, but because we don’t have a procession currently, I typically cherry pick the verses to keep the text coherent while under two minutes.

You can effectively have a free look at whether it’s of use to you by downloading the Worship IV index from GIA’s website and going to “Hymns for the Church Year”. You can then look up most of the texts on either OneLicense or Hope Publishing Company websites. The overwhelming majority are covered by OneLicense for hymn sheet printing or projection.

Sorry if this sounds like an ad! I don’t know of a similar alternative publication that targets Catholics.
