Music for the Twenty-Eighth Week in Ordinary Time Year C 12th/13th October 2019

These are the songs the music liturgy team chose for next week.

I have found that having gone round the cycle, between our previous selections and those from correspondents over the years, I’m getting a good resource for music selections by patience and bloody minded persistence. I’ve always though there should be a wiki-liturgy page for people to put up their independently arrived at music selections for each week. While there are many online resources and I’ve linked to some of these, I’ve never seen a central gathering place for suggestions.

Entrance: All the Ends of the Earth  (Dufford) AOV 1/76

Psalm 97 (McKenna)

The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power.

Gifts: You Are Mine   (Haas)  AOV 2/2

Communion: Gift of Finest Wheat  (Westendorf/Kreutz) CWB II 651

Thanksgiving: A Trusting Psalm   (Bates) AOV 1/115

Recessional: Lift Up Your Hearts  (O’Connor) AOV 1/156

All People That on Earth Do Dwell [Kethe / OLD HUNDREDTH]
    Responsorial Psalm setting: Michael Herry
Healing River of the Spirit [Duck / BEACH SPRING]
Gift of Finest Wheat [Westendorf / BICENTENNIAL]
Now Thank We All Our God [Winkworth / NUN DANKET]

The closest I’ve seen to a collation is at the St Louis University website:
    https://liturgy.slu.edu/
Select date, “Music of Sunday”, “Sunday’s Music in the Parishes”.
There’s only American parishes here, and the need to click each parish individually rather than seeing all selections at once in a tabular form make it very cumbersome to use.
This site has been around for many years, and I used to be a regular visitor (there’s also some useful articles for each week’s liturgy), but it’s been a long time since I’ve looked in. It feels very dated.

  3. Ryan says:

Gathering: Come, Now Is the Time to Worship (Doerksen)

Mass Parts: Mass of the Beloved
Psalm: The Lord Has Revealed to the Nations (Haugen/Haas – a retrofit of their setting of All the Ends of the Earth)

Gifts: Healing River of the Spirit (Duck; BEACH SPRING)

Communion: Come to the Water (Foley)
    God’s Holy Gifts (Schutte)

Closing: Hail, Holy Queen (SALVE REGINA COELITUM)
