I’m currently planning music for my parish’s next Youth-Led Mass which will be on the 22nd Sunday and I’m wondering if anyone could please direct me to any songs about the theme of humility (the only one I’ve got so far is Peter Kearney’s Magnificat). Thanks a lot.

      G’Day Sam

I think Chris is on a fruitful vein with the verse from Micah. Songs inspired by that include:
You are the Christ (Grant) – digital download from AOV
Micah’s Theme – also in CWB1! often found in boxes in a storage room somewhere.
The Road of Mercy (Briar) available at OCP
Justly, Tenderly, Humbly (Mangan) in “This is the Time” at Litmus.

I have blogged all those songs. The search engine on this site is a help occasionally but picking the right search term can be a problem.

For youth masses it is always worth checking the archive at Emmanuel-their sheet music is free. As I am discovering Michael Herry has a song for everything – also free.

There are a number of suggestions that might be useful here:

    https://summit.melbournecatholic.org/music-suggestions/2022/22nd-sunday-in-ordinary-time-year-c/

Anything inspired by Micah 6:8 would be useful, perhaps “Act Justly” (AOV1:50, dubious lyrics in second verse); Micah’s Theme (GA;486); or “What Does the Lord Require” (CWB2:642).

  3. Chris Wroblewski says:

CWB2:499 God Is Love, Let Heaven Adore Him [Rees / ABBOT’S LEIGH]
CWB2:642 What Does the Lord Require [Bayley / SHARPTHORNE]
CWB2:638 Where There Is Charity and Love [Connolly / JEREMY]
CWB2:613 The Church of Christ in Every Age [Green / WAREHAM]
