I’m back looking at Marty Haugen songs from Gather Comprehensive that I have yet to blog from other sources.
This is a powerful song of lament with a text by Haugen and set to PASSION CHORALE by Hans Leo Hassler (C16).
The tune was used in folk music and eventually became part of another lament, Paul Simon’s “American Tune”.
The text is in the sample at GIA where you can purchase the sheet music.
I got the BIAB file from Small Church Music and edited it and changed it to my taste.
