Taste and See by Chris deSilva

Another perfectly singable liturgical song by Chris deSilva from Perth. It s based on Psalm 33, which comes up in the nineteenth week in Ordinary Time soon, but has a more general Eucharistic application. You can take you pick of six verses.

I’ve scanned in the sheet music:

From Time to Eternity by Chris deSilva

I still working through Chris deSilva’s newer songs that he showed us at the APMN conference last year but aren’t up on his website yet.

This is an entrance song for a funeral.

Eternal Rest by Chris deSilva

This is a funeral song designed as a song of farewell.

There are no chords in the sheet music so I made some up that are almost certainly incorrect. It still sounds a good song.

Eternal Rest

I’d love to hear the SATB arrangement.

Child So Lowly by Chris DeSilva

I’m still putting up the newer songs of Chris DeSilva (from Perth) that he hasn’t yet put up on his site.

This is a Christmas song with lovely lilting tune that deals in the paradox of the Christmas story.

This is a scan of the sheet music.

Child So Lowly

You can sing along to my backing to learn it.

Go In Peace by Chris DeSilva

This is another of DeSilva’s songs with a specific use within the RCIA but which could act as a blessing in many circumstances.

I’ve scanned the sheet music:

Go In Peace

My backing just goes through the songs once but it could be repeated until the need passes.

Chosen and Called by Chris deSilva

This is another of Chris deSilva’s newer songs.

This one is for RCIA and I’ve scanned the sheet music and instructions to here:

Chosen and Called

He has lyrics for before and after the catechumens are baptised so he thinks of everything.

This has his trademark sing-ability.

You can learn it by singing along to my backing.

Jesus Promised by Chris DeSilva

Voices As One has syncopated me into submission so I’ll finish volume two of that later.

I had been waiting for Chris DeSilva to put up his newer songs he gave us at the APMN conference in Perth last year on his website. That hasn’t happened so I’ll jump the gun and put up some backings of these songs, because they are good, usable, liturgical songs.

Chris describes “Jesus Promised” as a Trinitarian gathering song, which is based in part on Matt 18:20.

I’ve scanned the sheet music to here:

Jesus Promised

He put a held D in the song so you might want to drop the key from D to C if that bothers you…well it bothers me.
