This is an Advent carol in 6/8 time with a text by Eleanor Farjeon and set to BESANÇON.
Looking to the east means New Zealand here, so I’m stuck with a metaphorical liturgical east. The text makes sense in the Northern Hemisphere and none at all in the Southern.
