Harvest AOVD

This lovely song by Peter Grant, from the As One Voice digital archive, is ideal for the Procession of the Gifts, but is also suggested for use at a wedding. I suspect if there had been further volumes of As One Voice hymn books, Peter would be a justly better known song writer in Australia.

You can purchase the sheet music at As One Voice , where there is also an instrumental snippet. Nonetheless, I made my own BIAB backing.

Refrain

Grain from the fields, grapes from the summer vine;

Kneaded and baked, crushed and matured to wine.

These are the gifts of our love we now bring;

Take them and bless them, oh Lord.

Take them and bless them, oh Lord.

1 The seeds of our lives have been scattered and sown,

With sun and with rain they’ve been blessed.

The harvest is plenty, the bread sweet and warm,

The table prepared for our Guest.

2 The vine of our love has been nurtured and grown,

Through seasons of joy and of pain.

The vintage is gathered, the good wine is poured,

The cup to be shared in His name.
