Lord, Heal My Soul AOVD

This is another Peter Grant song from the As One Voice digital archive. It is noted there to be suitable for a Second Rite of Reconciliation, but it would work well in Lent. The refrain is for the assembly and the verses may need a cantor. The text is based on Psalm 41:5.

You can purchase the sheet music at As One Voice. There is also a brief instrumental sample to listen to there.

I also made a backing.

Refrain

Lord, heal my soul. for I have sinned against you.

Lord, heal my soul, for I have sinned.

1 Those who ask, receive God’s loving mercy,

Though they fall from grace and sin again.

As for me, I cry “have mercy on me;

Heal my soul for I have caused you pain.”

2 Never fear to call upon his mercy.

Ask for healing, seek God’s tenderness.

As for me, I cry, ” have pity on me;

heal me, comfort me in my distress.”

3 All who seek the Lord will find compassion,

As a child on its mother’s breast.

As for me, Lord, grant me your protection;

Only in your arms my soul can rest.
