May the Road Rise Up BB 387

OCP added Tom Kendzia’s setting of this traditional Irish blessing to Breaking Bread in 2017.

It is pleasant and singable.

The sheet music is available at OCP. Based on the number of You Tube clips it is popular.

May the road rise up to meet you

May the wind be always be at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rain falls soft upon your fields

And until we meet again
Until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand

And until we meet again

Until we meet again
May God hold you
May God hold you
May God hold you in the palm of his hand

    Hi Six Maddens
Love this blog, which I found during lockdown 1 here in Ireland inMarch 2020.
Love this Tom Kendzia, which I’ve used with school choir .
Lyrics of 1st verse seem to have a gone a little askew there.
Words I have are:”May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields”
Anyway thanks for keeping me going even when we couldn’t sing at Mass and introducing me to all the lovely Australian church music.
    keep up the good work!
    God bless
    Sabrina
